Director of Support Services Dallas Children's Advocacy Center
This case study will discuss how the presenters as family advocates, responded to the homicide of a child, how they collaborated with their MDT partners, and created a safe and calm environment for the family entering the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center (DCAC). They will explore their successes, their challenges, and the lessons learned from a victim advocate's perspective and response. They will also discuss what the family engagement looked like, follow up appointments, and how they determined if DCAC is the best place for the family to receive therapeutic services.
