This session will discuss recent court cases examining the issue of over-broadness in electronic device search warrants, and explain how investigators can overcome and succeed in light of these guidelines. Investigators will learn techniques to draft search warrants and defend their position for the importance of browsing history as it relates to the victimization of children. Actual samples of browsing histories and their relevance will be presented. The evidentiary value of this history will allow the prosecutor to paint a fair and accurate persona of the offender to the judge and jury.
