Cases with allegations of children and adolescents with problematic sexual behavior (PSB) can present a myriad of challenges for multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) and children’s advocacy centers (CACs). In recent years, it has been determined that these cases constitute upwards of 25% of referrals to CACs. However, many communities do not have a systemic approach for this population and lack therapeutic resources for families involved. This workshop will review recommendations designed to guide and support MDTs and CAC staff to enhance current practices and promote positive outcomes for children with PSB, children impacted by the PSB, and their families. Decision aids developed by NCA’s Problematic Sexual Behaviors work group will be reviewed and explained.
