In this workshop, attendees will learn detailed information about normal sexual development in youth and problematic sexual behaviors. The presenters will also discuss sexually aggressive behaviors, focusing on children who sexually act out within a family unit. With the addition of a second attorney presenting, this year's work shop will offer detailed explanations regarding the roles of juvenile probation services and the juvenile criminal justice system in providing treatment for these youth.
Learning Objectives:
Learn the differences between normal sexual behavior, problematic sexual behaviors, and sexually aggressive behaviors in children
Learn and understand the current teaching modalities for treatment of various problematic and sexually aggressive behaviors within the juvenile system and outside of legal involvement
Learn and understand the current resources available to help children who are the victims of children with problematic sexual behaviors heal from their traumas
