Unidentified human remains cases as well as long-term missing child cases are inherently some of the most difficult cases to investigate and ultimately recover. NCMEC is in a unique position to provide analytical resources to law enforcement agencies on these distinctive cases to help name the unidentified that are believed to be children, and assist in bringing the long term missing home. This presentation will discuss NCMEC’s methodology when working these cases and the analytical resources and support available to law enforcement.
