Traditional methods for storing, protecting, and defending your digital evidence are being passed by the cutting-edge options available in Cloud Services. Physical redundancy, disaster recovery, high availability, and security are all key to operating successfully. The question isn’t if the Cloud is better than a 100% on-prem solution. The question is “how do I safely use this better option?” This workshop will host a panel discussing the real-world story of one ICAC Task Force using Cloud Services to reduce their level of risk, and the effort and operational expense required to run day-to-day operations.
CloudFit Software, based in central Virginia, has teamed up with the Southern Virginia ICAC to harness the limitless power of the cloud. CloudFit Software, staffed with several former ICAC digital forensic examiners with a passion for children’s safety, worked with the SOVA-ICAC to establish a turnkey, cutting edge cloud environment with DoD level security. This session will present and discuss their journey from beginning to operating securely in the cloud with members from the Southern Virginia ICAC, Microsoft, Magnet Forensics, and CloudFit.
Panel Members: Kevin Davis – Project Lead, CloudFit Software Chris Carlson – Chief Services Architect, CloudFit Software David Williams – Microsoft, Director of Business Programs Public Safety and Justice
