This presentation will take a look at some of the issues involved with the investigation and prosecution of offenses involving teenaged victims. We will cover several subtopics including the inability to appreciate consequences, lack of cooperation, limited access, meeting them where they are, and general bias against teenagers. This presentation is designed to give a basic understanding of the problems that we confront in dealing with teenaged victims of crimes such as exploitation. While the solutions to these problems are limitless, the hope is that this presentation will generate a discussion on out-of-the-box solutions to the common problems presented.
