Reuben Ramirez is a twenty-seven-year veteran of the Dallas Police Department where he currently holds the rank of Assistant Chief of Police. He was previously the commander over the Criminal Intelligence Unit, Major Crimes Unit, Internal Affairs Division, Special Operations Division, and Investigations Bureau. He is currently the Bureau Commander of the Tactical and Special Operations Bureau. He started his career with DPD in 1995 and has served in various roles during his tenure. Reuben received his bachelor’s degree from Midwestern State University and graduate degree from Southern Methodist University. Assistant Chief Ramirez is also the commander of DPD’s newly formed Wellness Unit, which serves to assist employees in managing their emotional and physical wellbeing.
