Drugs, greed, and need are often identified by research as motives for familial trafficking and the biological mother is often most likely the trafficker. This session will delve into the dynamics and research of family-facilitated child sex trafficking and how it differs from other forms of sex trafficking. The double betrayal experienced by the victims of family-facilitated sex trafficking requires a deeper understanding and knowledge of trends. The presenters will share their examination of validated Texas Child Protective Investigation allegations of sex trafficking and how it compares to the research.
