Elizabeth Hunnicutt was an attractive mother of two small boys, daughter to a prominent Alabama family, wife of an active duty U.S. Marine, and serial child abuser of both of her children. This case study provides the proper investigative techniques for medical child abuse (Munchausen by Proxy) cases and then illustrates these methods through the case study of Elizabeth Hunnicutt, who committed child abuse crimes in both California and Texas against her children. George Hunnicutt, father of the victims, will provide his insights and experiences within this process as the father of the victims and husband of the abuser. This presentation will provide the investigative techniques needed by CPS and law enforcement to conduct a successful investigation and prosecution of this very misunderstood form of child abuse.
