In this workshop, we will discuss how a children's advocacy center (CAC) can provide comprehensive services to victims in a mass casualty event. We will explore the roles of CAC professionals working with law enforcement to provide crisis intervention, forensic interviews, medical treatment, and family support services. We will highlight the importance of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) between advocacy centers and partner agencies before there is a mass casualty event. Finally, we will explore the Standard Reunification Method and the methods for planning, and achieving successful reunification at a CAC. We will discuss the need for Mass Casualty Event planning and the impact on a CAC and the importance of MOU’s when building partnerships, We will also discuss special considerations for serving families in a group setting.
